Our Little Explorer is Growing UP!
I love a theme. I love a party. So naturally I’ve been planning my son’s first birthday party since before he was born. Up has been an important part of our family’s story, tying it into our wedding and our pregnancy announcement, so it seemed fitting to celebrate our little explorer growing up with an Up-themed birthday party! We were able to incorporate so many fun details, and I wanted to share all of the adventure with you!
The Decor
The wilderness must be explored sign by Jay and Kay Co on Etsy
Wilderness Explorer stickers for goodie bags from Main Street Sticker Co on Etsy
One banner from Once Upon A Party Design on Etsy
My darling mother took it upon herself to decorate a cardboard house like this one to look like Carl and Ellie’s. The kids had so much fun playing in it!
These first year photo clips from KT Blue Creations were perfect for our guy’s Mickey themed monthly pics
With the help of my sister-in-law’s artistic skill, I DIY’d the high chair banner with this scrap trim bundle and these pennants from Michael’s
The Food
Clearly, grape soda is a must. I used a St. Louis classic – Fitz’s Grape Soda and the grape soda badge design from Cut Files Forever on Etsy. Plus pictures from Jackson’s cake smash photo shoot with Lindsay Meffert Photography
Had to pay homage to the tennis balls on Carl’s walker and Dug’s favorite toy with these delicious cake pops from Lizzie Pops STL
Kevin’s favorite treat also had to make an appearance – chocolate bars are a must!
I used local Sweet Inspirations Bakery for Jackson’s smash cake and cupcakes. They do gluten-free and regular, which was a huge win in my book!
These adorable cupcake toppers from Mandi N Mari Designs on Etsy really *made* the cupcakes for me!
The Fits
Dressing in the theme is mandatory in this house! Jackson’s adorable shirt was custom made by Monogram Parade on Etsy, and both Taylor’s button up and my tie-dye tee are from Box Lunch!
